Over the years Shetland News has grown in stature and reputation, and continues to enjoy healthy growth rates:

During the financial year 2015/16, the website recorded almost 3.4 million visits (7.1 million page views), an increase of 100 per cent over the previous four years;

The number of individual readers (unique users) presently stands at between 25,000 and 30,000 per week;

In 2013 and in 2015 Shetland News won the Best Use of Digital Media accolade at the Highlands and Islands Media Awards, in 2015 Shetland News were also awarded the Top Story of the Year award.

In 2015/16 we published over 1,900 news stories, features, letters and reviews.
