Shetland News Supporters is a scheme by Shetland News Online Ltd. to help fund journalism on www.shetnews.co.uk. All funds are to contribute to the further growth of the Shetland News by increasing the number of journalists working at Shetland News, modernising the www.shetnews.co.uk website, and increasing community involvement.

To sign up as a Shetland News Supporter, go to https://supporters.shetnews.co.uk/tier/membership. On this page you can choose the membership tier you would like. You can also join by calling 01806 557332.
Cost of Shetland News Supporter membership
You can find details of the different subscription costs here. The prices include VAT. We accept the following payment methods: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and PayPal.
By signing up for Shetland News Supporter, you authorise us to charge you a membership fee each month associated with the tier you selected before checkout.
The payment will be taken from your payment method each month at the same time, or shortly after the day you became a supporter.
Your Shetland News Supporter membership will continue at the end of each billing period until you pause it, cancel it or we terminate it.
You must cancel your Shetland News Supporter membership before it renews at the start of the next billing period in order to avoid the next billing period’s membership fees being billed your payment method.
Duration and cancelling membership
Your Shetland News Supporter membership will start when you make the first initial payment and will automatically continue into the next billing period, unless your pause it, cancel it or we terminate it.
You may cancel your Shetland News Supporters membership at any time by accessing the subscription page in your account here.
We can cancel your Shetland News Supporters membership if you breach this user agreement.
Change membership tier
Yes, you can change to another Shetland News Supporter membership tier here, and select Change Membership. Changes to your membership will commence immediately after your current billing period ends and the new billing period is renewed.
Cooling off period
Yes, you can cancel your Shetland News Supporters at any time in the 14 day period from the day after we send you an email confirming your Shetland News Supporters membership.
If a dispute arises between you and Shetland News Supporters, we strongly encourage you to first contact us directly to seek a resolution by contacting us via the Contact page. We will consider reasonable requests to resolve the dispute through alternative dispute resolution procedures, such as mediation or arbitration, as alternatives to litigation. Any claim, dispute or matter arising under or in connection with this User Agreement shall be governed and construed in all respects by the laws of British. You and Shetland News Online Ltd. both agree to submit to the [non-]exclusive jurisdiction of courts of the United Kingdom.
In simple terms, “[non-]exclusive jurisdiction of courts of the United Kingdom” means that if you were able to bring a claim arising from or in connection with this User Agreement against us in Court, an acceptable court would be a court located in the United Kingdom, but you may also elect to bring a claim in the court of another country instead. British law will apply in all cases.
This User Agreement and the other policies posted on Shetland News Supporters constitute the entire agreement between Shetland News Online Ltd. and you, superseding any prior agreements. No agency, partnership, joint venture, employee-employer or franchiser-franchisee relationship is intended or created by this Agreement.
This Agreement shall be governed and construed in all respects by the laws of Scotland. You agree that any claim or dispute you may have against Shetland News must be resolved by the courts of Scotland. You and Shetland News both agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish Courts.
If we don’t enforce any particular provision, we are not waiving our2 right to do so later. If a court strikes down any of these terms, the remaining terms will survive. We may automatically assign this agreement in our sole discretion in accordance with the notice provision below.
Except for notices relating to illegal or infringing content, your notices to us must be sent by registered mail to Shetland News Online Ltd., Knowes, Lunning, Vidlin, Shetland, United Kingdom, ZE2 9QB. We will send notices to you via the email address you provide, or by registered mail. Notices sent by registered mail will be deemed received five days following the date of mailing.
We may update this agreement at any time by publishing a new version here.
You should check this page occasionally to ensure you are happy with any changes to this agreement.
